Looking down from Nairn Street towards Upper Willis Street, with Thorndon in the distance. There is an early settler's cottage on the right of the street, with two cows in the foreground.
This is one of the old New Zealand Company streets of 1840, named after Sir Alexander Nairne, one of the earliest directors of the Company.
Attributed to an unknown artist until 2008, when a study of the style of the work suggested an attribution to C. D. Barraud
