- Description
Italianate style house, Nelson, circa 1910. Group unidentified. Photograph taken by Frederick Nelson Jones.
"This house displays many of the characteristics of the Italianate style. In particular this can be seen in the triangular pediment above the doorway and the ornate mouldings supporting it; the repetition of the arched shape of the doorway in the design of the upstairs windows; and in the modillions (brackets) supporting the roof. Note the large barrel near the door collecting water. The large, spiky plant on the left is a yucca." (Information from caption used in the "Darling, I'm home!" display).
