Description

A paddle steamer, possibly the Devonport ferry arriving in the harbour, while a large liner to the right (the Mariposa) is drawing out from the wharf, with smoke pouring from its funnel and is probably the mail steamer referred to in the title. The Auckland Harbour Board buildings can be seen to the far left.
