Copy by an unknown Dutch artist after Hodges' engraving published in Cook (1777, I, Plate 53, fp 181) 'The island of Otaheite bearing S. E. distant one mile'. Shows Matavai Bay with Tahiti in the background, with small and large canoes in the foreground. The canoe to the right has a tall ornamented prow. From Captain James Cook's second voyage to the Pacific. Verso shows handwritten text in Dutch.
There is some variation in the details between this and the engraved version.
