World War 1 soldiers at the New Zealand Convalescent Hospital at Hornchurch, Essex. Photographer unidentified (possibly Harry Thos Peat? - see other notes for PA1-o-471).
Note on back of file print reads "All NZ Convalescents from the 3 New Zealand General hospitals in England (Brockenhurst, Walton on Thames and Codford) were sent to the NZ Convalescent Hospital at Hornchurch, Essex. From there they returned to NZ or passed to Codford Command Depot before returning to Sling Camp (Infantry Base Training Depot), finally rejoining their units."
