A drunken politician, unable to stand straight, and with his hat dented, is supported by both elbows by two stern-faced policemen, in top hats and caped overcoats. One is holding a lantern, the other a baton.
There is some possibility that this is a self-portrait, although it may be a caricature of a colleague.

Domett was himself a politician.
