Description

A poster-plan map of Auckland Land District no. 1339, depicting lands open for selection on renewable lease to discharged soldiers. Made up of two maps, one a cadastral map of the Tuhua Survey District, indicating numbered sections and including acreages, owner's names and dates handwritten in each section. The other is a locality plan of the area from Russell south to New Plymouth. The map includes several paragraphs of text stating conditions of sale, information about the 'second class land', and instructions to applicants.

The cadastral map depicts the Tuhua Survey District, with handwritten names JH McLennan, H Beale, GH McElroy, WJ Kelland, DA Corlett, Hans Neilson, JH Duller, AJ Dornauf, I Dance, EW Dunn, CR Kelland, A Venn, HD Hannah, TE Meredith, RG Faulkner, T Minshall, LM Coldstream, G Saunders, F Carlton, C Bellshaw, F Norton, D'arcy Alban Garlett. Names crossed out include HA Moyes, F Fry, D Carmody. Bordering these properties is the Ohura South 'G' Native Land block, Rangaroa Village, reserve land (some subsequently sold), a scenic reserve and a recreation reserve.
