Parliament Buildings, Wellington, photographed in the 1890s by the Tyree Studio.
Inscriptions: Photographer's title on negative - bottom left - Parlt House, 522; Photographer's title on negative - bottom right - Tyree, Phot, Nelson
Note on back of similar image at 1/2-011626 reads: "Built as 2 buildings. The section on the right was built as the Provincial Buildings in 1857. When central government was moved to Wellington [1865] it became Parliament Buildings. The building was also used for Supreme Court sessions at one time. It was replaced by the General Assembly Library in 1899. The wooden building on the left was built in 1873, and was destroyed by fire in 1907."
