Description

A cadastral and topographic base map of the area from Haywards Road to Moonshine Road and the Wainui Stream to Akatarawa River and the Mangaroa Hill, has been used to detail land ownership. Added topographic descriptions have been noted on the map. Sites of sheds, woolsheds, yards, slaughter house, bridges, fords, metalled roads, mills, cemetery, whare, racecourse, houses, schools, a convent and huts named Cooks and Galoways or Galoway are marked. Includes the rifle range, Trentham Camp, Pathological Laboratory at Wallaceville, horse depot, Tramway Gully, Swinson Park (farm), Maymorn Mill, Silverstream Brickworks. Includes the names of Mulhern, E. Bollans, N. Stace, Barton, Styles, Stewart, Cecil, Buchanan, Williamson, G. Hull, D. Watkins, W.R. Pringle, Aplin, W. Deller, Seager, E. G. Dymock, J.
