The sailing ship 'Iris' berthed at Port Chalmers, photographed by David Alexander De Maus sometime between 1872 and the early 1880s. Dated from the second Presbyterian church visible on the hill in centre background, which was built in 1872, and had not yet had the major additions of the third Presbyterian church, built by 1883.
