Street scenes taken in Napier, including two featuring Percy Bush, the uncle of the captain of the New Zealand Maori rugby team, Bill Bush. Percy Bush stands by police as anti-apartheid demonstrators march by. Photographs taken 25 August by an Evening Post staff photographer.
Percy Bush had earlier addressed the protesters in both Maori and English expressing his opposition to apartheid but pointing out that he had come to see his adopted son play the Springboks. Mr Bush was "pop" to Bill Bush who had lost his father.
