View taken from the hillside above the wharves at Port Chalmers and looking out to the entrance to the Otago Harbour. A number of sailing ships are berthed at the wharves. In the immediate foreground on the right is the second Presbyterian Church built in Port Chalmers in Mount Street. Photograph taken by Herbert Deveril in late 1870s or 1880s.
