Date

By

Description

The man has full moko on his face, short curly hair and an ear adornment. Beyond him are parallel fence lines, possibly indicating the two sides of a path or track rising up a low hill to the left and a small European-style house is on a low rise in the left background. Tall hills and a sunset or sunrise sky in the background.

Several of White's other known watercolours are copies and this too could be a copy. It is the same as A-114-041, a watercolour by an unknown artist. It resembles several of Angas's lithographs, but is not an exact copy of any of them.
