- Description
A small diary containing full entries for selected days. Included is a description of the ceremonies and conversations he heard and observed at the funeral for the local chief Erangi (or Matotoro), as well as comments on books he had read, people meet, duties done. The diary begins with a long statement about how thankful he is to God for all he has been able to achieve.
A loose folded page in the diary, for 29 September 1846, is now at MS-Papers-5336.
