Interior of a New Zealand Co-op Dairy Company Factory, Tirau. Shows a large quantity of butter being removed from the barrel of a 100-box churn, one of a row of four churns in production in the factory room (including one of 64-box capacity). Two men are working in the background. Photograph taken in September 1951, by Edward Percival Christensen.
Other - Original file print caption reads: "N.Z. Co-Op Diary Company's Factory, Tirau. Photo shows nearly one ton of butter being removed from a 100-box churn. Three 100-box churns and a 64-box churn are in production at this factory."
