A large Kanak house with a smaller one to the left and several people outside. Coconut (and banana?) palms and low hills beyond.
No. S87 in Richard A. Schneiderman's catalogue raisonne. State v/v.
Balade is on the north-eastern coast of New Caledonia. Pouebo is further south on the north-east coast. A road runs between the two via a settlement called St Paul
