Description

Research into the early history of the Williams family at Gosport, Nottingham and Southwell, together with the Coldham family of Norwich and Nottingham, and the Nelson family of Nottingham. The relevance to New Zealand is that these are the ancestors of Henry and William Williams, and their wives, Marianne and Jane. Much of the material dates from the 18th and 19th centuries in the period before Henry and William emigrated to New Zealand as C.M.S. missionaries. Primary documents are 'Williams Family in the 18th & 19th Centuries_MW' and 'Nevil Harvey Williams papers_at Turnbull'.
