Shows Richard Barrett and Dr Dieffenback seated outside a wooden hut on the side of a cliff. There is a smaller shelter on the cliff above them with two Maori saeted inside. A group of Maori (men, woman with child on her back and small boy) are walking up carrying fish and birds. Lower down the slope a man and his dog are seated looking out to sea. Sea birds are flying overhead and two men in a waka are seen paddling away.
