Description

A group of well-heeled people are having drinks in a living room overlooking the Waitamata Harbour with Rangitoto in the distance. The harbour is festooned with yachts and there is a picture of a yacht on the wall. A man who looks like a boating-type poses elegantly with his wineglass in his hand. He tells the others that he is thinking of doing the South Island which he believes is about 600 kilometres south of the Bombay Hills. The cartoon is a comment on the parochialism of Aucklanders, this one seeming to regard the South Island as a foreign country.

Other Titles - "Yes, we're thinking of doing the South Island - understand it's about 600 kilometres south of the Bombay Hill."
