Carte-de-visite portrait of a man in the uniform of the Wanganui Rifle Volunteers, wearing the New Zealand Medal, photographed, probably in the 1870s, in the studio of William James Harding, Wanganui.
The New Zealand Medal was sanctioned in 1869. Harding used the wet collodion process in the 1870s, but changed to the dry plate process in the 1880s.
