Description: Mangopare - the pattern on the tahuhu of "Te Poho-o-Rawiri", a house erected at Kaiti, Gisborne, about 1849. "Pitau-a-manaia". The white represents the pattern. Description: 16 is a pattern of Tamati Ngakoho, the decorator of Ropata Wahawaha's famous house "Waiomatatini" on the Waiapu River. The straight crossbars and other details are foreign to earlier models. 18 is an Arawa pattern known as "puhoro". This pattern was modified to make a beginning of the design, and the modification is shown in No 20 (30W). "There were some fine examples of this pattern in the "Tama-te-Kapua" house at Ohinemutu but they have been spoilt by restoration". Quantity: 3 watercolour(s).
