Carte de visite portrait of Paora Torotoro, chief of Ngati Hinepare, wearing a kakahu (cloak), taken, probably in the 1880s, by Samuel Carnell of Napier.
Dated from use of dry plate process. Identified by Patrick Parsons.
1/4-022175-G and 1/2-078965-G may have been taken at the same sitting. The subject is wearing the same cloak, and appears to have the same application of greasepaint to the moko in all three images.
