Description

Studio portrait of Winifred Cusack Smith photographed by John Davis in about 1890. Winifred is dressed in a white dress and jacket. She holds a Samoan fan in her right hand, and rests her left hand on a table covered with a boldly patterned tapa cloth.

Sir Thomas Berry Cusack Smith married Winifred Maitland in 1886. She was the mother of Maia Cusack Smith. She died of a fever in Samoa in 1894.
