Description

Two storied house in Springfield Road, Christchurch, photographed by Steffano Webb in 1907. The lower story is built in rusticated stone. The upper story is covered in wooden shingles. The roofing is Marsailles tiles. Part of the garden can also be seen.

The house was built in 1906, so was very new when this photograph was taken. The architectural firm, England Brothers, was formed in 1905 when Robert England, an established Christchurch architect, was joined by his younger brother, Edward.
