A soldier purchases a bottle of Ballarat Bitter beer while relaxing with other soldiers inside a dugout canteen stocked with canned goods, chocolate, cigarettes, and assorted rations. Photograph probably taken during the North African campaign, circa 1942 or 1943, by an unidentified photographer.
