Description: Shows George Chapman standing in the door of Muldoon's office asking him if he would agree to a change of leadership before the election. He is holding a newspaper with the headline 'Tania Harris leads massive march against disruption'. Muldoon is sitting at his desk reading a book entitled 'Picketing & the law'. Refers to the 'Kiwis Care' march organised by a young woman, Tania Harris, in Queen St, Auckland on 3 March 1981 in which thousands of people rallied to show their disatisfaction with continuing industrial disruption and strikes. Description: This cartoon has two scenes. In the upper scene Duncan MacIntyre, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, is brandishing a garden fork. He is leading a group of horticulturalists each of whom is holding a flower pot. In the lower scene Muldoon is standing with an order sheet in his hand showing samples of his lilies to a row of Japanese men. Refers to Muldoon's hobby of lily growing, and Japan/New Zealand trading. Duncan MacIntyre accompanied Muldoon on a visit to Japan in April 1981. Description: Shows three scenes. In the top right a traveller is being frisked at the passport desk. When he objects he is told he is being checked for 'guns, bombs, drugs or abducted children'. In the lower left Muldoon is presenting his passport at the desk while the passport officers listen to him muttering about the Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Fraser. In the lower right 'the criminal element', two shady looking men are about to travel. One is holding six passports, trying to decide which one to use. The Americans have just missed colliding with the Russians and the American cosmonaut's complaints sound like someone complaining about a bad car driver. The Columbia was on it's second mission into space after it's launch was delayed by bad weather. It's first mission was 12-14 April 1981.
