Contains notes about various topics taken from published sources and contributed by Te Whatahoro and others, including the early Pakeha settlement of Wellington, Maori pa sites around Wellington and Wairarapa and related historical events, migrations and conflicts within Rangitane, Ngati Ira and Ngati Kahungunu: notes about whakapapa, earthquakes, moa, eels, fish, guns, waiata, photographs of designs incised on stones near Rahotu, Taranaki, etc. Also includes notes about the settlement of the South Island from Mantell's notes (supplied by Matiaha Tira - [Tiramorehu?]); notes collected from Ngapuhi by W J Phillips; Continued in Maori notebook No 23 qMS-0203.
