Richmond Station is between Samuel Butler's station, Mesopotamia and Lilybank Station in the McKenzie Country, South Canterbury. In 1884, when this watercolour was made, it was owned by the brothers Andrew and William Grant and managed by Johnnie Ross, owner of Lilybank.
