Description

Chromolithographic advertising card for a Lille chicory manufacturer shows Captain James Cook dressed in red with white overcoat and tall black boots, sword at his side, with a group of Maori dressed in native garb with oval shield and cape. The caption below is in French. The verso of the card has text in French pertaining to the merits of chicory added to coffee and milk, and an image of a pretty gardener.

Other Titles - Cook, English explorer. Interview with Maori chiefs during an expedition to New Zealand. Lovers of true pure chicory, which give a delicious taste to coffee and to milk, must proclaim everywhere the Extra Chicory Pretty Gardener brand. Three gold medals, and five honour diplomas at various exhibitions.
