- Description
Shows Prime Minister Robert Muldoon lost in a forest of huge legs which look like tree trunks. He is calling out 'Bretton Woods...Bretton Woods..." Refers to Prime Minister, Rob Muldoon's disastrous handling of the New Zealand economy at the end of his time as Prime Minister. The Bretton Woods system was an attempt after WW2 to create an international monetary management system. The cartoon probably depicts Muldoon's inability to integrate New Zealand's economy into a world environment.
