Head and shoulders portrait of Bishop Alfred Walter Averill, taken by S P Andrew Ltd, possibly at the time of his consecration in 1910. Shows him wearing a pectoral cross.
Other - Published in the New Zealand Free Lance, 18 February 1925 with the caption: "The New Primate: His Grace Archbishop A W Averill. At a meeting of the Anglican Synod last week, Bishop A W Averill, of Auckland, was chosen as the new Primate of the Church in New Zealand, to succeed Archbishop Julius who retires in April."
