A frontal portrait of the head and shoulders of a woman, looking slightly towards the left. She is wearing a garment with a fur-trimmed neck and has short hair cut in a fringe. Also detail of a side view of a nose with its septum pierced to hold an ornament
Joppien / Smith number for this drawing is 3.291. It may be an original for the engraving in Ellis' Voyages (1782) vol II fp 46 as well as vol I, p. 289, 'A woman of Unalaska' although the woman in the engraving is shown with tattooing on her cheeks and chin
