Five holograph letters written by William Maxwell Hammick to his mother, Mary, from New Zealand during his time farming at Kekerengu, Napier and Taupo and service with Tauranga Cavalry Volunteers. Accompanied by typed transcripts, biographical notes on Hammick, article on the Hammick brothers by W T Parham published in `The Volunteers' (journal of the NZ Military Historical Society, v9 Jun 1982) and a letter to Parham from T R W Longmore, West Sussex re Hammick (Jan 1987); Hammick's obituary (Salisbury and South Wiltshire Gazette, 1915).
