View looking south along Hobson Street, Thorndon, Wellington, towards the intersection with Davis Street, taken circa 1859, possibly by James Coutts Crawford. Standing in the street is Mrs Bannantyne. Mrs Jessie Crawford, with H Bannantyne on her knee, and Mrs Caroline Harriet Abraham, are seated. The boy on the right is unidentified. The ships 'Pelorus' and 'Cordelia' are in the harbour. Mount Victoria is in the background.
