Continued from Maori notebook No 16 (qMS-0195). Contains information about the history of the Wellington district, including the Ngati Toa, Ngati Raukawa, Te Ati Awa heke to the south - recorded from Wi Tako [compare with version written in the hand of Te Whatahoro Jury, see MS-Papers-0189-b025]; also contains whare wananga information about the creation and nature of the universe, migration from Hawaiki and related myths and stories about Maui, Tawhaki, and others; Also includes letter from H Fildes and miscellaneous notes.
Also includes notes on the construction of canoes in Borneo.
