Maker(s) not identified. Includes:

Portuguese coin of 1870;

large silver/nickel coin of 1914 portraying left profile of Yuan Shi Kai with moustache;

small bronze coin, inscribed "The Republic of China - Ten Cash" and showing the 5-colour flag - therefore dated between 1912 and ca 1930s;

one large and one small silver/nickel coin featuring the portrait of Chiang Kai Shek, dated 1933 and 1936;

and, one small silver/nickel coin inscribed Hu-Peh (ie Hubei) Province, 1 Mace and 4.4 Candareens.

Possibly related to Frederick Bird of the China Inland Mission, whose visiting card was amongst the papers. Photocopy held with coins. His donation of Chinese coins to the Library recorded in April 1953
