Description

J class locomotive, NZR number 14, 2-6-0 type, built by Vulcan. The driver, Charlie Fitzpatrick, is on the left with four unidentified railway men standing alongside. Photographed circa 1900, possibly by Albert Percy Godber.

J 14 was in service between 17/8/1885 and 9/1933. Information from "Register of New Zealand Railways steam locomotives 1863-1971" by W G Lloyd.
