Description

Princess Te Kirihaehae Te Puea Herangi as a girl in the late 1890s. She is draped with Kahu huruhuru (Maori feather cloaks). There is a message in Maori across the bottom right hand corner. Photographer unidentified.

Note on back of file print reads "Princess Te Puea Herangi, 1884-1952. Photograph taken when she was a girl believed to be dying from tuberculosis."
