Arrangement of text. The candidate may be Robert Waitt, 1817?-1866.

Waitt is probably Robert Waitt, and the year may be 1853. See 'Wellington Independent', Volume VIII, Issue 818, 13 August 1853: "Mr. John London, Porirua, came before them on that occasion to nominate to the Electors of the Wellington Country Districts, Mr. Robert Waitt, as a Candidate to represent them. Mr. Waitt, had at all times shown himself to bo a straighforward, upright and honest man, he was consistent in his politics, and had rendered no small share of assistance in procuring Representative Institutions for the colony. He was estimable also in the private and social relations of life, and was in every way, he (Mr. London) considered, worthy of their consideration and support. Mr. Matthew Hammond seconded the nomination of Mr Robert Waitt".
