Source of descriptive information - Franck Bruyere, a citizen of Le Quesnoy, identified the building that the Germans used as their headquarters in Le Quesnoy, and gave the reson for the smallnes of the crowd. May 2008.
Inscriptions: Photographer's title on negative - bottom left - H1153
The large three storied building in the background, with soldiers leaving it, had been the headquarters of the German occupiers. The smallness of the crowd was due to the Germans having evacuated the town on 27 October 1918.
