Description

The sailing ship Wellington at Port Chalmers. Copy negative taken by David Alexander De Maus off one of his own prints.

Inscriptions: Photographer's title on negative - bottom left - D A De Maus; Photographer's title on negative - bottom right - Photographer, Port Chalmers; Marginal notes on negative - top centre - Wellington

Built in 1874. With Albion Co, then Shaw Savill and Albion Co, from 1874-1904. Sold to Norwegian buyers 1904. Foundered 1906. Made 12 voyages to Port Chalmers, between February 1875 and January 1900.
