- Description
Shows politicians gathered around a "Treasury" piano in a Western saloon, watching the Hon J T Watts, the Kid from Taxes (variant of "The Kid from Texas"), playing "The Budget". Leaning on the piano beside him is the Prime Minister Sid Holland, and William Sullivan, Minister of Labour, stands behind the piano. Mr Algie, the Minister of Education, and Keith Holyoake, the Minister of Agriculture, stand at the extreme right.
Published in the Evening post on 21 July 1995.
"The kid from Texas" starring Audie Murphy, was released in 1950.
J T Watts was the Minister of Finance in the Holland government from 1954-1957.
