Shows wedding party, including two bridal couples in European dress, brides in white, and another couple with the woman in dark dress. Grouped around are men, women and children, making a total of 28 persons, all in European dress. They are standing in rural surroundings, the edge of a field with fence in right background, and scrub-covered hill behind. Man with child at left may be European.
Artist Octavius Hurt, owner of the sketchbook, is known to have been in the Akaroa area in the late 1860s.
