Poster advertising New Zealand as a tourist destination shows a head and shoulders portrait illustration of a Maori chief with facial moko, huia feathers in his hair, greenstone ear pendants, and white hair including a moustache. A Maori whare and pa fencing are silhouetted in the background.
The image of the chief may be based on a photograph of Topia Peehi Turoa, according to the identification in "Selling the dream" / Alsop, Stewart, Bamford (2013), page 55. There are also similarities to Leonard Cornwall Mitchell's illustration of Rewi Maniopoto (held by the Library at E-204-q-016).
Another copy of this poster has wording (possibly name of printer) in the lower right corner; may have been cropped from the Library's copy.
