Deane, Juliette, b 1842 : Reminiscences

Her reminiscences cover the period 1842-1855. There are detailed descriptions of life in Wellington, including a list of friends and acquaintances and an account of the 1855 Wellington earthquake.

Juliette Deane (née Daniell) was the daughter of Capt Edward Daniell. She was born in Wellington in 1842. The Daniell family lived at Te Aro after arriving from England. In 1843 they moved to their farm `Trelissick' in Ngaio, and later to the Hutt Valley.
