Contains many myths and legends, probably written by Ihaka Whaanga, starting with Rangi and Papa and including information about the creation of the universe and the establishment of various customary practices; notes about the activities of Maui; also includes information about conflicts at Hawaiki; also includes an account of the introduction of the kumara to New Zealand by Pourangahua and a related whakapapa; includes information about the Takitimu migration from Hawaiki led by Tamatea, conflicts at Turanga involving Rakaihikuroa and others, and traditions about the Ngati Te Whatuiapiti hapu. The apparent contents list at the front does not correspond with contents. In Maori.
