Topographical map of part of the Tararua ranges showing triangulation points in the area from Mount Kakapanui and Mount Hector to Mounts Waitohu and Pukehou north of Otaki. A route of a main road, described as practicable, is drawn alongside the Waikanae River. Tracks are marked, the terrain is described, and notes are included about the time taken to travel to and from various points.
