Shows a bridge of three planks laid over rapids in a stream, and supported by two piles of rocks. A range of snowy mountains is visible in the background.
The artist arrived in New Zealand in 1876. She is not known to have had any relations by the name of Orbell. The name 'Grannie Orbell' may be an affectionate description of an older local woman, rather than suggesting a blood relationship. 'Grannie Orbell' has not been identified.
