An original print from this negative is at Pa1-o-195 (Godber album vol 101, p 19.)
This image is reproduced in "The Piha Tramway" by David Lowe, where he gives the date as circa 1920 "the wharf about 1920 in its much extended and final form". However the Godber Album (Vol 101) in which there are many images of the Piha Tramway etc. gives 1915-1916 as the dates in which Godber was in the area.
Inscriptions: Album page - The "Heads" Wharf.
This wharf was built for transporting timber from the kauri forests in the Piha and Karekare areas.
