Description

A front elevation of Phoenix Chambers (a 3-storied brick building in Lambton Quay). A woman is walking by, with two men talking to one side, and a pair of horses in the street.

T. H. James may have been an apprentice of the architect F. de J. Clere. The date 1888 has been suggested as that it is the date at which the building was completed. This date is also supported by the style of dress of the woman shown in the view
